-- Bill Garber of GSE-Reactive has announced that following the successful 
launch of the Mockingboard clone for slotted Apple II's, there's a clone 
in the works for the //c and //c+.  This unit would sit outside the 
computer and attach via an adapter to one of the computer's ports.  For

-- Bart Pilgrimer is (in)famous for his "Network from Heck" which 
incorporates a multitude of computers, including several Apple II's.  
He's upgraded his network again, this time going wireless.  If you've ever 
wondered how an "everything but the kitchen sink" network could operate,

-- Returning from an overseas work stint, Bill Martens has been busy 
revamping the Call-A.P.P.L.E. website, moving it to a new server,and 
working on the next issue of the group's online publication.  Included in 
the website update is a new software library area.  The site can be found

-- Mike Harvey has completed scanning of the entire Nibble library of 
Apple II magazines and books, including the 11 volume set of Nibble 
Express Annuals, 12 1/2 years of Nibble Magazine; 4 1/2 years of Nibble 
Mac magazine; and many other Apple II books published in the 80's.  
Available on CD, the set is priced at $99.95, and a DVD edition is $89.95 
Also available is the Nibble OmniBook ,All 12 1/2 years of Nibble 
magazines plus 27-volume Nibble books library for $239.95.  For other

Nibble has also released as a free download, Key Perfect, the program 
checksum utility used to verify that you correctly typed in the program 
listings in the monthly magazines.  Handy if you're planning on trying

--Software News:

 - Included in the above-mentioned Call-A.P.P.L.E. website update is a 
link to the Willamette Apple Connection's website.  The WAC has now 
released to the public their software library which includes games, 
AppleWorks templates, programming aids, Apple /// material, as well as PDF 
copies of their previous newsletters.  More information can be found at:

 - CiderPress users should check out Andy McFadden's website for the 
latest version of the program.  Now at v2.3.0, CiderPress now is updated 
to support ACU compressed files, has been updated to comply with latest 
versions of NufxLib and zlib DLLs, added a "new disk" dialog for a blank 
disk image, as well as other program updates and fixes.  More information

-  The Trailing Edge has released two PDF files relating to the 80s  
operating system, Apex, which is geared towards assembly language 
programmers.  Besides a manual, the website also has a PDF containing the 
language's code listing, it's text editor and assembler manual, as well as 
and Apex utilities disk.  Check out their page, which contains multiple

 --Emulation News

  - PlayStation Portable users who want to hold an emulated Apple II in 
the palms of their hands should check out Team Xboxopensource's Apple II 
Portable emulator for PSP, a homebrew application which will emulate the 
Apple II on your PSP.  Some features include imported YAE 0.6 sources, 
disk swapping, emulation for the ][, ][+ and //e, and is ProDOS and DOS 
3.3 compatible.  This is a work-in-progress, and there are some known 
bugs, including sound quality issues, and video quality.  For more

   - Semi-Virtual Disk (SVD) users will want to check out the program's 
homepage for updated information regarding Apple ][ Write support.  If you 
use a program that does multiple writes to disk during a session, as some 
games do, SVD now can accommodate that.  Making backups of disks are also 
now available to SVD users. More information can be found at:

- Gerard Putter has released version 4.2 of his 8-bit Apple II emulator, 
Virtual ][. for Mac OS X, Virtual ][.  This program requires Mac OS X
